We, my co-teacher Allen Chia-Ding Chang and I, are happy to join the APEC 2002 Networked Collaborative Learning Project Workshop on August 19, 2002. Professor Chi-Syan Lin, who is an Associate Professor of National Tainan Teachers College, teaches us the new paradigm of education. In this project, teachers and students will use computers, Internet, FrontPage, and E-mail to do the assignments. This is a part of so-call Computer-integrated English learning.
Speaking of Computer-integrated English learning, I¡¯d like to share with you my recently teaching experience.
Last winter vacation, five of my colleagues, my students of Grade7, and I did the assignment about Easter to learn western culture. I had my students get on line to explore
information about Easter, paint the posters, and color the Easter eggs in five groups. My colleagues and I arranged the schedule and prepared various kinds of teaching materials, such as series of story pictures, practice-charts, game-cards, worksheet, and evaluation-sheet.

I myself also found five useful websites and three books about holidays for reference. I created a PowerPoint file that introduces the story of Easter. When the new semester began, I presented a report at the English teacher workshop of my school on March 19. I was happy with the results. I was also happy with the friendship and experience I gained from working with my colleagues.
On April 3, we did another demonstration for Grade 1, class 6. I used Power Point to introduce the story, meaning, and customs of Easter. And some students taught related vocabulary with Front Page. Then, the learning activities went through egg-coloring and ended with egg-hunting.

After the demonstration, my students told me that they were happy to have this experience. I¡¯m glad that my students not only gained an appreciation of western holiday but also had the chance to be teachers by using the new teaching method.
Teaching is both a pleasure and a challenge. Computer-assisted teaching is a valuable new tool in the classroom. I deeply think that using a computer for teaching will be more popular in the near future.
