ALCom = APEC Learning Community

To - reduce knowledge divide and eventually to share prosperity in the APEC region

By - cooperative work, research, and human resources exchange via online and offline human networks

With - ALCoBs (APEC Learning Community Builders) who are qualified teachers, supporters, and learners in the APEC region

 

 

  Who are the APEC Learning Community Builders (ALCoBs)?

  • Core members of the ALCom, who are learners, teachers, and supporters qualified and selected from each economy
  • Pioneers of the ALCom to establish, develop, and maintain the community
  • Key contact persons who voluntarily and actively organize and perform their own activities with a new vision of the future for the education in the APEC
  • Main driving forces to reach ultimate goals of the ALCom through various activities such as cooperative work, cooperative research, knowledge sharing, and the exchange of human resources

  ALCoB-Teachers : With other ALCoB
  • Participate in Internet Volunteer Activities in domestic/abroad
  • Develop a working model of Instructional Contents
  • Collect and share information on the best practices of using ICT
  • Identify the needs and understand other economy teacher ALCoB

  ALCoB-Learners : With other ALCoB
  • Participate in divergent collaborative assignments/activities
  • Share information for learning and discovery activities
  • Study and/or evaluate the recommended contents (e.g. APEC Sister School Network & APEC Cyber School)

  ALCoB-Supporters: With other ALCoB
  • Support and advise on ALCoB activities, encourage active participation, and provide incentives
  • Participate in the ALCoB activities

 

 

  ALCoB Internet Volunteering

  • ALCoB can make a plan and conduct the Internet volunteer program (IIV)
  • IIV leaders may form cells or groups for the ALCoB Internet Volunteer(AIV) Project
  • At least once a year, ALCoB members will visit targeted economies and support the use of ICT in education.
  • Helping other economies operate the AIV in the future


  Developing and Utilizing ALCoBzine
  • Virtual spaces for all kinds of online activities such as
    • Sharing Information and knowledge
    • Forming Cells and Groups
    • Conducting Cooperative work
    • Research
    • Social Activities (e.g., cell-chatting)
    • Accumulating / Retrieving Knowledge and Information
  • Online quarterly-updated magazine that ALCoB autonomously report on the progress/results of projects and/or research
  • Sharing practical knowledge as well as academic knowledge
  • Succeeding to experiences and know-hows from ACEN Webzine


  ALCoB Workshop by/for Teachers
  • Local economy and international level workshop
  • Exchanging knowledge and know-hows among ALCoB
  • Invite experts to Expo on e-learning
  • 2003. Oct/Nov: First International ALCoB Workshop

  Publishing International Journal by Supporters
  • Publishing quarterly online academic journal (APEC Cyber Education Journal: APCJ) by ALCoB Supporters with the coordination of ACEC-Study Secretariat (ACEC-SS)
