Telecollaboration Project

Telecollaboration is an internet based multi-cultural telecollaborative learning project that enables students to combine Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for learning across the curriculum and intercultural understanding in the globe.

Telecollaboration is a structured activity in which educators and students use the internet technologies such as Electronic Mail, Chat, Web Discussion, Video Conferencing and the World Wide Web to access, process and share data and to communicate, cooperate and collaborate on internet-based multicultural learning projects with peers from all over the world.

Telecollaboration is grounded in an educational approach which emphasizes project-based learning via the internet technologies. The participating organizations from around the globe are grouped into telecollaborative mailing sets for telecommunication between and among the all participating organizations via the internet technologies. The partners from participating organizations prepare theme-based soft and hard copies of project reports which are exchanged within telecollaborative mailing sets both via internet and postal mail.

Each year telecollaboration project starts in September after the mailing circles are arranged for telecommunication. The current projects (2001-2002) will be completed by June 15th, 2002. Teachers and students of all ages from all backgrounds and organizations can participate in Telecollaboration Project.

Telecollaboration Project is open to private, public and academic participants from all over the world. To enter the prestigious online telecollaboration project, participants need to register and submit placement form to the project coordinator at info@telecollaboration.org. Active mailing lists are connecting online both teachers and students to exchange information and experiences with people in other countries. Teachers can subscribe to the mailing lists of world teachers.
