Online class in the U.S.A.: The Star Schools Program
 

The Star Schools Program is the worldwide online class project with the collaboration of public and private educational institutions. Since 1988, this program has provided more than ten million students with accesses to online educational programs as well as ICT technology and maintained specialized programs for teachers and school administrators.

This program supported funding for forty-eight worldwide online class projects amounted $275 million for twelve years. Currently, the project size is still expanding and participation is increasing.

Through The Star Schools Program, each school and educational institution can have access to various educational programs including science, mathematics, algebra, calculation, physics, foreign languages and technical education. Major target groups of such programs are students in elementary and secondary education. Students without English language proficiency or disabled students can also use this program.

Many websites in this program provides creative services for mutual exchanges to students, teachers and parents. Besides, other education experts participates in online seminars, group discussion and education development programs or organizes online committee for exchange ideas. Teachers can find useful courses materials and resources offered by the Star Schools Projects.

With the basis of twelve years experience, The Star Schools Program has grown as an alternative essential educational method to innovate classical class in schools in the United States. Evaluation data and reports prove that The Star Schools Program has offered plentiful opportunities of online education to various kinds of students. Students, teachers and other evaluators stated that through this program, learning-teaching methods have been improved and students' interests and motivation have far more amplified.
