Dear APEC Future Education Consortium colleagues:
On behalf of the APEC Future Education Consortium, I would like to extend my appreciation for your honorable presence at the 1st APEC Future Education Forum.
At the forum, we were together to crystallize ideal model of future education and deliberate the strategic ways to foster the ICT Model School Network. Through the session of ‘General Discussion’, all of participants carried out the criteria for ideal future school model.
With your earnest attention and support, we expect to report our achievements to the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting as the APEC Future Education White Paper. In this context, the consortium reported the outcomes of the forum at the meeting of SOM(Senior Officers’ Meeting) III and got welcomed by member economies. Henceforth, our activities will be included in the Joint Statement of APEC Ministerial Meeting in November. For all of these activities, Dr. Chira Hongladarom reported the consortium’s activities to the SOM III to arouse the attention of member economies. I will deliver the gratitude to our Lead Shepherd of APEC HRD WG, Chira Hongladarom and our EDNET Coordinator, Ms. Ana Maria Quiroz for their concerns and support.
As you might be aware, the 1st APEC Future Education Forum will be continued for discussing theoretical strategies and practical implementation for future education. In this respect, the outcomes will be more enlarged and developed at the 2nd APEC Future Education Forum in Hanoi, Viet Nam under the theme of ‘Harmonizing, Technology, and Human Values for APEC Future Education’. Tentatively, we have a plan to convene the 2nd APEC Workshop for Future Education Forum in Brunei prior to the next forum. Most of all, I would like to express my gratitude to H.E. Prof. Dr. Pham Vu Luan, Vice Minister of Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training for his support to convene the next forum in Viet Nam.
Ultimately, our first step named of the 1st APEC Future Education Forum will be a solid foundation to contribute to realizing the shared prosperity in the APEC region and enable us to continue our collaborative activities in education for realizing ideal future education. Above all, your precious opinions and activities are essential for these objectives.
