Chair’s New Year’s Message to the ACEC Task III colleagues
Dear ACEC Task III colleagues:
At the beginning of the New Year, I offer cordial greetings and good wishes to you, members of the ACEC Task III and also wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to all members. Your earnest attention and support enable the consortium to greet the New Year with precious outcomes of last year.
Year 2005, it was a first year for us to integrate the activities of the Consortium of APEC Cyber Education Cooperation (ACEC) and the APEC Future Education Consortium under the name of the ACEC Task III. Based on autonomous and creative participation of members, we launched the APEC ICT Model School Network with 71 schools from 15 member economies and convened the 1st APEC Future Education Forum to deduce the criteria on the future school model. In addition, the 3rd International ALCoB Conference was advanced with the planning of ALCoB members all along firstly. Most of all, the APEC Ministers welcomed and appreciated these achievements through the Joint Statement 2005.
In 2006, we meet great challenge to promote the APEC e-Learning Training Program which was recognized at the 27th APEC HRD WG Meeting. Launching the APEC e-Learning Training Centre, we are to lead the trend of e-HRD research activities and training as a research liaison. In particular, we will correlate the activities of the ACEC Task III and APEC e-Learning Training Program, thus, we will develop and enlarge the international cooperative activities more than before.
My fellow colleagues!
Now, we reach the high point to lay a course of our activities for prosperous achievements in the field of HRD. In this context, I would like to put emphasis on a keyword, “evolution.” It means to elicit an advance of an individual entity with progressive direction in an out.
Through evolving our capabilities, we are able to insure substantiality of the consortium and create new and bright ideas for the future steps of our activities. Likewise, we are able to enhance the value of education and to bring about the outcomes to lead innovative trend of international cooperation in education.

I believe that we are going to strive for continuous research and development and bring the utmost efforts to create a new vision in the field of the APEC HRD
Hopefully, we expect to be committed to each member’s development as well as the consortium’s progress.
